Clifton Grant                                                                                                           May 25 1942 – December 9 2020

Grant passed away peacefully at Allendale Long Term Care on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Loving husband of 53 years to Joanne.

Adoring father to Colleen Williams and Derek MacKinnon (Rogelyn) and grandchildren Rachel and James Williams and Caitlin and Carina MacKinnon.

Predeceased by his beloved parents Clifton and Barbara MacKinnon and brother John.

He was a loving brother to Stuart (Nicole), Alan (Lampoon), Robb (Linda), Betty (Gerry) and Bryce (Susan) and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Grant graduated from Queens University in 1964 and worked as a quality control and research chemist at Molsons Brewery Montreal P.Q. for 3 years. He was always interested in information technology and took courses leading to jobs as a programmer analyst and project manager for major companies in Montreal and Toronto for 32 years.

He was a passionate conservationist and beekeeper for 40 years and President of the Toronto District Beekeepers for many years.

Grant took great pride in remaining physically fit and strong, having participated in track and field in high school and university and continued to have a daily ”work out” until Parkinson’s Disease symptoms limited his abilities .

He was a keen tennis player and on the executive of Milton Tennis Club working with members to transition to a new club from Childs Drive to Santa Maria Blvd.

His family and friends remember him for his kindness, patience and great sense of humour.

Heartfelt appreciation to the caring staff at Allendale for ensuring his final hours were comfortable and dignified.

A celebration of his life will be held at Grace Anglican Church Milton ON in the new year and Internment in the Spring at Breadalbane Cemetery in Eastern Ontario.
