Blanchette, Fleurette

Mar 1, 2021

Fleurette Blanchette (nee L’Ecuyer,  formerly Cadieux) passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family in the beautiful comforts of her home on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the incredible age of 97 years old. Fleurette was born on August 9, 1923 in Dalkeith, Ontario.   As a young girl, she lived on the family farm with her (predeceased)  brothers  Reginald L’Ecuyer , Valaire L’Ecuyer, Florian L’Ecuyer;  (predeceased) sisters Paulette Deslauriers, Bernadette Leger, Ambroisia Rouleau  and her hardworking, loving parents (predeceased) Arthur L’Ecuyer and Olivina (Laviolette).  She is survived by her baby brother Arthur L’Ecuyer. At a very young age, she started working out of the home and continued working hard all of her life to help support her family. She met the love of her life Omer Cadieux when she was 14, and they were married on January 27, 1942. Together they raised 6 wonderful children that they were so very proud of, Yvon Cadieux (Huguette), late Lucien (Ginette), Jeannine Firth, Irene McDonell (Gerald), Gaetan Cadieux (Michelle), and Elaine Van der Byl (Adrian) and predeceased by infant daughter Marie.  Fleurette loved music, knitting, doing things for anyone just to make them happy, driving the “old folks” to their doctors’ appointments, and praying for anyone that needed an extra boost, an extra prayer or needed healing.  What Fleurette loved most of all was her family, including her precious grandchildren, Sylvie Miller, Pauline Jeaurond, Suzanne Lacombe, Mario Cadieux,  JoJo Cadieux, Diane St.Louis, Tim St.Louis, Bob Bonin, Richard Bonin, Ray Bonin, Corinne Bonin, Linda Cadieux,  Yvan Cadieux, Angie Van der Byl and Cyndi Van der Byl. Predeceased by infant Jacques Cadieux. She was equally proud of each one of her 19 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. After the passing of her precious husband Omer, she re-married Rolland Blanchette where they enjoyed the comforts of each others company, and had a good life together until his eventual passing.
