BARCLAY, JAMES ROSS
November 27, 1937 – September 13, 2019
James (Jim) Barclay of Port Hope, Ontario passed away suddenly on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the age of 81. Predeceased by his parents, Ross and Ruth (née Dart). Survived by his sister, Carol (Ken Welden) from Grenville. Loving father to his children, Ross (Karen Deme) and Allison (Ben Cowan-Dewar) from Toronto. Devoted grandfather to Jack, Sophie, and Sam. Jim was born in Pointe-Fortune and attended elementary and high school in Grenville, Quebec. He graduated from Carleton University with an engineering degree and from Sir George Williams University (Concordia University) with a Master of Business Administration. He taught telecommunications in Indonesia and Kenya. In Malaysia, Jim helped establish a computerized Telecommunications Training College. Later in life, he taught technology in Changchun, China. He was fluent in English, French, and Indonesian, as well as proficient in Spanish and Mandarin. Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
