ISABEL AGNES BAILLY (NEE MCOUAT)
1930-2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Isabel Agnes Bailly (née McOuat) on February 14, 2019 at home in Pointe-Claire, QC. Isabel was born on October 20, 1930 in Saint-André d’Argenteuil. She was the daughter of the late Helena and Allan McOuat. Isabel is survived by her husband, Robert Bailly, to whom she was happily married for over 60 years. She is deeply mourned by her daughters, Ann Watts (Bailly), Jane Bailly (David Schaal) and granddaughters, Stephanie and Michelle Watts. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Hammond (née McOuat) and extended family, whom she cared about deeply. Isabel obtained her teacher’s diploma at Macdonald College, did her BA degree in French and History at Concordia University and went on to obtain a French Specialist diploma. Isabel worked as a teacher at Ormstown High, Lake-of-Two Mountains High, Lachute High, and Lindsay Place High School. Isabel’s greatest pride and pleasure were her family. She was also passionate about genealogy; she spent decades researching and recording the genealogy of McOuat, Rodger, Bailly and Boehner families. She was also instrumental in the restoration of Christ Church as a heritage site. At Isabel’s request, there will be no funeral. A small private family gathering will take place at a later date following interment at the Carillon Cemetery.
