FREE TOUR & BBQ: Launch of Prescott-Russell’s 1st Community-Owned Solar Project

October 1, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

Grab a bite and learn how solar power is generated from industry experts between 10am and 2pm.  A launch ceremony at noon will present the project’s history and partnership with the Keewaywin First Nation, as well as speeches from local officials and government representatives.

Kids can also learn about solar power by building solar-powered toy cars on site.

BBQ starts at 11am – please RSVP to ensure there is enough for everyone.

Carpool to the Event: List your ride or find a ride to the event using this Google Sheet.

Parking is available on St-Philippe Street and at Laroque Park a few blocks West.

The entire project is financed by hundreds of residents of Eastern Ontario who invested as little as $2,500. Generated electricity is sold to the grid and profits are returned to investors. Learn more.

This tour is offered as part of the Ottawa Green Energy Doors Open weekend of celebrations. A dozen individuals and businesses are showcasing their green technologies. Check out our booth the day before at the Energy Showcase at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa.
