The Town of Hawkesbury has granted $23,000 in direct financial support, and $30,500 worth of in-kind services to community organizations and events.
Council adopted a resolution approving the grants and in-kind contributions on May 11. The grants are allocated based on decisions made by a selection committee composed of council and staff representation. A total of $30,500 was allocated in the 2026 municipal budget for community organization and event grants. Out of that amount, $10,000 was received by the town from the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
The annual Auto Expo is back in 2026. Due to its role as a major tourism event, the town has granted the Club Auto Hawkesbury $6,000. A grant of $5,000 is going to the Club Optimiste de Hawkesbury. Soccer Pro 17 is receiving $3,000 from the town while Groupe Action Maison de la Famille will receive $2,000. Bike Night Hawkesbury and the Canadian Mental Health Association are each receiving grants of $1,500. Maison Interlude will receive a grant of $1,400 and $1,250 is being contributed to Victim Services Prescott-Russell. The town is also providing grants of $900 to the Communauté Haïtienne de Prescott-Russell and $750 to the Prescott-Russell Immigrant Women’s Network.
The in-kind contributions are for 50 per cent of the cost of an organization’s facility rentals and other logistical support from municipal personnel.
Among the organizations receiving in-kind contributions from the Town of Hawkesbury in 2026, the ORCA and Silver Dolphins swimming clubs are each receiving $5,000 while $5,500 is being contributed to the Roadrunners Athletic Club. The Club Auto is also receiving $3,000 of in-kind services for the Auto Expo, and the Cercle Gascon II Theatre is receiving $2,500. The Hawkesbury Bridge Club is also receiving $2,000 of in-kind services from the town. The Minor Baseball Association and ASD United are each receiving $1,500 in-kind contributions. Victim Services Prescott-Russell, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Prescott-Russell Immigrant Women’s Network are each receiving $1,000 of in-kind support. In-kind contributions of $500 each are being made to Pro 17 Sports, Autism Coalition Prescott-Russell, and the Club Optimiste de Hawkesbury.
