Niagara Falls resident killed in Alfred and Plantagenet collision

The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a five vehicle collision on County Road 17 in Alfred-Plantagenet Township.

On November 18, 2020, shortly after 8:00 a.m., OPP officers, Alfred-Plantagenet Township Firefighters and Prescott-Russell Paramedics responded to the location on County Road 17 in Plantagenet, just west of County Road 9.

The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver has been identified as Edward Ivanov, age 35 of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Another victim transported by air ambulance with serious injuries remains in critical condition at an Ottawa hospital.

The Highway was re-opened to traffic the same day at 5:30 p.m. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
