The City of Clarence-Rockland is very proud to announce that there will be a Christmas Parade of Lights this year.

Due to the pandemic, and to avoid gatherings, the parade will be “drive-through” style. The event will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2020, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Clarence-Rockland Arena parking lot, located at 8710 County Road 17 in Rockland. In the safety of their vehicles, residents will follow the route and admire the various floats. Businesses and associations wishing to participate in the parade are asked to contact Christine Sarault, Cultural and Community Activities Coordinator at [email protected].

Christmas Shows

In partnership with the Clarence-Rockland Public Library, the City of Clarence-Rockland will present two Christmas broadcasts. Santa Claus will host these shows, one in French and one in English. These shows will be broadcast on December 18 at 6 p.m. in French and at 7 p.m. in English on the Cité de / City of Clarence-Rockland and Bibliothèque publique de Clarence-Rockland Library Facebook pages, in addition to being shown on TVC 22. Children are invited to write a letter to Santa and submit it to the Rockland branch of the Library by December 6th. Santa will respond to each letter and might even read some during the broadcast.

“The pandemic has been very difficult on the morale of the municipality’s residents. The drive-through Christmas Parade of Lights and the special broadcasts on Facebook are great initiatives to experience the magic of Christmas in our community. I take this opportunity to invite residents to decorate their homes early in order to enjoy the excitement of the holidays longer,” said Mayor Guy Desjardins.
