The CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority confirmed on October 16 that there were 13 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil.  The cumulative case count for Argenteuil is now at 163.

As of October 16, Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute had been added to the list of schools in Québec with cases of COVID-19.  The COVID-19 outbreak at Seminaire du Sacré-Coeur in Pointe-au-chêne/Grenville-sur-la-Rouge also remained in effect as of Friday.  No other confirmed cases of COVID-19 among students or staff at any other public or private schools in the MRC d’Argenteuil were listed by the Québec education ministry as of Friday.

There were no outbreaks of COVID-19 at long-term care facilities, other group living institutions, or hospitals across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of October 16.  The number of COVID-19 deaths in Argenteuil as of Friday remained unchanged at nine.

Regional alert levels

The MRC d’Argenteuil remained as an orange zone under Québec’s regional COVID-19 alert system as of October 16.  To the east, the neighbouring MRC’s of Deux-Montagnes, Mirabel, and Rivière-du-Nord are red zones.  The Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC was also a red zone.  To help contain the spread of COVID-19, residents of red zones should not be traveling outside of their region.  To the west, The MRC de Papineau is an orange zone, but the city of Gatineau and surrounding MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais are red zones.

Across Québec

On October 15, the Québec health ministry reported that were 91,018 cumulative cases of COVID-19 across Québec.  However, the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ) reported that as of October 15, 76,512 of the cumulative cases across Québec were resolved, which means that there were 14,506 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of October 15.

There were 507 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of October 15, and 87 of those patients were in intensive care.

As of October 15, there had been 6,018 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec.
