On Thursday June 4, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil increased to 65 from 64 cases on June 3.

The total number of deaths in Argenteuil due to COVID-19 as of June 4 remained at five.

The CISSS des Laurentides region includes seven other MRC’s, and the municipality of Mirabel.  Throughout the Laurentides region on June 4 there were 3,020 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which was an increase from 2,984 confirmed cases on June 3.  However, the CISSS des Laurentides was listing 1,901 cases as resolved, which means that 62.9 per cent of the 3,020 Laurentides cases are now resolved and there are 1,119 active cases across the region.

Across the Laurentides region on Thursday, there were 215 COVID-19 patients in hospital and 31 of those patients were in intensive care.  As of June 4, there had been 149 COVID-19 deaths in the Laurentides region.

According to the CISSS des Laurentides, COVID-19 is, or has been present in all nine municipalities within the MRC d’Argenteuil.  There are less than five cases in each municipality except for Lachute, which has had 30 cases.  Brownsburg-Chatham has had eight cases, and there have been eight cases in St-André-d’Argenteuil.

No outbreaks of COVID-19 at long-term care facilities or other institutional living facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil were listed by the CISSS des Laurentides as of June 4.

Québec statistics

As of Thursday, June 4, there had been 52,143 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Québec.  That was a 0.5 per cent increase from 51,884 confirmed cases on Wednesday, June 3.

The Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ) reported on June 3 that 17,336 cases of COVID-19 in Québec were resolved, which means that 33.2 per cent of the 52,143 cases were resolved and that 34,807 cases remained active.

As of June 4, 1,076 COVID-19 patients in Québec were in hospital and 146 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 4,885 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 throughout Québec as of June 4.  That was a 1.9o per cent increase from 4,794 COVID-19 deaths on June 3.

Reopening

Outdoor training for team sports, and local competition for individual sports is now permitted to resume in Québec.

Québec government liquor stores (SAQ) will begin opening again on Sundays, starting June 7.

The Régie de logement, Québec’s landlord and tenant tribunal has resumed hearing cases.

Québec government parks and wildlife reserves, operated by the Sépaq agency, reopened on June 1 for full day use and camping with public health restrictions in place.

All private and municipal campgrounds, marinas, and other tourist accommodations in Québec reopened to customers on June 1 with added public health restrictions.

Other Québec COVID-19 information

The Québec Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the situation at long-term care facilities across Québec as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Societé d`habitation du Québec agency is offering interest-free loans to tenants requiring assistance with paying their rent during the pandemic.

On June 2, the Québec government announced a new training and financial support program for long-term care facility assistants in order to fill the significant demand for employees at those facilities.
