The Dalkeith Historical Society is organizing a Zumba evening to raise funds for new windows at the Robertson Clark building in Dalkeith.
The Zumba event will take place on Monday, October 1, from7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at École secondaire Le Relais at 100 McNab Street Street in Alexandria.
Zumba with Bubpha, along with guest instructor Louise Stephenson, will include prizes, refreshments and more, say organizers.
Both instructors are donating their time and talent to this event.
Advance tickets are available and/or you can make donations to the cause. The historical society is aiming to raise $1,200 by October 1. The new window will be installed on the “street side” of the building, which originally had a storefront window on either side of the front door. Eventually, those windows were removed and the space had been boarded up with siding. One window was replaced in July; this fundraiser is for the second window, which the group hopes to install before winter 2018.

While you are here, we have a small ask.
More people are reading The Review than ever before — across our many platforms. So far, we have not put up a paywall to limit the stories you can read. We want to keep you in the news loop. But advertising revenues are increasingly going to the big two: you know who they are. If you value The Review’s independent, local community journalism, or you value the many ways we support dozens of community organizations in their endeavours, consider supporting our work. It takes time, effort and professional smarts to stay on top of community news and present well-researched, objective news articles on issues which matter to you.
If you read stories on this website, or you have come here from an Instant Article post on Facebook, think about subscribing. It would be a vote of confidence for the work that we do, and for the future well-being of your community.
