Break-ins, impaired driving in North Glengarry

Break-in

On May 31, 2018 at approximately 4:53 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on McCormick Road, in North Glengarry. An investigation indicated that some time on May 31, 2018 culprit(s) entered a residence and removed jewelry (multiple men’s watches) and Canadian currency. An investigation continues.

Impaired driver

On June 1, 2018 at approximately 5:21 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a traffic complaint on Kenyon Street West in Alexandria in North Glengarry. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol. A 48-year-old woman from Lachine, Quebec was arrested and is charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired and with driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol (blood). She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on July 4, 2018.

Impaired driver

On June 2, 2018 at approximately 2:22 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 34 in North Glengarry. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol. A 54-year-old man from South Glengarry was arrested and is charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired and with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol (blood). He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on July 4, 2018.

Charges relating to break-in

On June 2, 2018 at approximately 11:01 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business on Kenyon Street West in Alexandria. An investigation indicated that on June 2, 2018 culprit(s) entered a business and removed a guitar.  Shortly thereafter, SD&G OPP located and arrested an adult male and adult female in connection with the break-in. A 35-year-old Cornwall man has been charged with break and enter.A 37-year-old North Glengarry woman has also been charged with break and enter. Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on July 4, 2018.
