Vaudreuil-Dorion, February 22, 2018. – The 5th edition of the seasonal and student job fair titled “Journée EMPLOIS étudiants et saisonniers” which took place yesterday at 150 Perrot Boulevard in L’Île-Perrot was a success. More than 300 job-seekers introduced themselves to the 30 employers present and applied for some of the many positions on offer. A total of 490 jobs were offered.
The annual event is a great opportunity for employers to meet applicants directly, to establish contact, and to present their businesses and job openings. The event’s theme was “Reste dans l’action, viens voir ce que t’offre ta région!” — Stay in the action, come see what your area offers you! — with the goal of showing young job-seekers the diversity of job opportunities in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
The event also allowed students to familiarize themselves with www.emploietudiant.gouv.qc.ca, a website that offers advice on job searching, as well as to point them towards Placement en ligne, a database of jobs or internships that will allow them to gain the experience needed in their chosen career path.
The partners of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Employment Fair, which make up the organizing committee of the job fair are: Centre local d’emploi de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, le Carrefour jeunesse-emploi Vaudreuil-Soulanges, DEV Vaudreuil-Soulanges, le Collège de Valleyfield, la Commission scolaire des Trois-Lacs, Réseau Emploi-Entrepreneurship, SDEM-SEMO Montérégie et Umanico Recrutement et conseil.
