MP Francis Drouin announces $15,000 in funding for Les Vergers Villeneuve & Blueberry farm

St-Pascal-Baylon, ON –Today, $15,000 in funding from the federal government was announced for a local business to ensure job creation in Prescott-Russell.

Francis Drouin, Member of Parliament for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, announced the funding on behalf of the Honorable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development at Les Vergers Villeneuve & Blueberry Farm in St-Pascal-Baylon.

The funds will allow Les Vergers Villeneuve & Blueberry Farm to expand their production capabilities to enter the fruit wine market as well as create two seasonal positions and diversify their current crop.

“Today’s announcement demonstrates the importance of the Agriculture and Agri-Food sectors in Prescott and Russell.  This investment will ensure unparalleled visibility for the Glengarry-Prescott-Russell area and stimulate the local economy,” said Drouin.

“This contribution to our local businesses is a good example of the economic growth potential in Prescott-Russell,” explained Éric Drouin, Chair of the Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation. “The FedDev Ontario investment, made through the Eastern Ontario Development Program, will have a direct impact on our job creation and the growth opportunities for Les Vergers Villeneuve & Blueberry Farm.”
