On Saturday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. the church of Ste-Anne-de-Prescott will host a play starring Robert Kirby, mayor of East Hawkesbury.
The show is called “Les nouvelles nouvelles.” Here’s the synopsis: A television station’s evening news is about to begin, but the regular news team is missing. The other employees from the station, who know nothing about news, must put on the show.
The genius playwright is eighth-grade student, Adèle Lavigne, who wrote the show as a school project.
Starring alongside Mayor Kirby is Father St-Denis and Phillippe Lauzon, a teacher. The cast is rounded out by a number of other actors young and old.
Tickets at $15 each, children younger than 12 are free. All proceeds will go towards the restoration of “l’Annonciation,” a painting from 1914 by Toussaint-Xénophon Renaud.
