New junior hockey league announced

A new junior hockey league was formed on Wednesday, April 15, under the Ottawa District Hockey Association (ODHA) and Hockey Canada.

With eight teams participating in the new inter-provincial league, it promises some interesting hockey competition on both shores of the Ottawa River.

The following teams have confirmed their commitment to the National Capital Junior Hockey League: Embrun Panthers, Cumberland Bandits, Rockland Nationals, St-Isidore Eagles, Vankleek Hill Cougars, Gatineau Express, Les Voyageurs de Papineauville, and La Peche (to be named).

The league also voted and selected the following executive: Ian McRae, president; Collette Legeault, treasurer; Hubert Seguin, director; Richard Charest, director; Ay Campbell, webmaster / statistician / discipline.
